    Dates: July 6-10, 2009
Leave from: Los Angeles Harbor (Long Beach), California
    Ship: Carnival Cruise Lines' Paradise

The ship's first stop will be at Catalina Island where most of the island's attractions are available very close to the dock. You won't need to sign up for shore excursions unless there is one you can't miss! You can just have fun walking up and down the sidewalks, enjoying the ocean breezes and people-watching. It's possible to swim on the very small beach in town. Golf carts, bike rentals, etc., are available near the dock. Go scuba diving and snorkeling right there in Avalon, walk up to the Botanical Gardens. See the Yellow submarine. Go on a Kayak expedition or take the Zodiac jet raft along the coast. By all means, check out the Glass Bottom Boat. Lots to do in Catalina. The island may look like a European resort, but it's still the good old USA!

The next day you'll be in Ensenada, Mexico, with a different atmosphere altogether. Mariachi music everywhere you go. Enjoy some of the food here, perhaps take a jeep ride or an ATV in the dusty hills. A trip to see La Bufadora is fascinating—in Spanish the word means a natural spout that shoots water high into the air. You can even take a kayak to go see La Bufadora. Maybe you can take the class on how to cook Mexican style. Go horseback riding. Take the city tour and have fun shopping. Perhaps a comfortable coach ride up Baja's Gold Coast would intrigue you. We're in town until 10:00 pm so you will have time for a Fiesta! See detailed itinerary
